This is a list of some projects that YPN members are currently involved with.

You can get the source code for many of them from our YPN Subversion repository. Most of them also have source code linked to from their respective pages.

There is also a page attempting to collect various project ideas, we call it Moments of Code. If you're bored (or creative) enough, have a look!

Gramdolf

Gramdolf is an IRC statistics bot written in Ruby, who can generate up-to-date statistics (in HTML) about a channel on the fly.

Tastewhich

Tastewhich is a neural-net driven sandwich taster. You give it a list of ingredients and it will rate the sandwich as either "tasty" or "vile."

ForthVM

ForthVM specifies a simple stack-based language which is easy to translate to native code for a given platform, and could serve as the code generating backend for a compiler project.

setsuko

setsuko is a networked rock-paper-scissors tournament system. The goal is to write AIs that can play rock-paper-scissors against each other, and with an evolutionary algorithm select the best AIs and their best parameters.

The 2610 computer is built from discrete transistors, intended as a demonstration and educational tool rather than a practically useable computer (although it's not entirely useless).
